Evaluating Social Justice Advancements in Sentencing for Driving while Intoxicated (DWI) and Driving under the Influence (DUI) Offenders

This article is designed to evaluate the advancement in self-reporting of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and Driving Under the Influence (DUI) since the research that studied in pursuit of social justice: designing sentences for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and driving while under the influence (DUI) offenders (Scott & Amedee, 2021). In this article, the researcher will discuss research after 2015 related to self-reporting of DWI/DUI punishments and behaviors as well as self-reporting of access to alcohol, setting and cravings. Previous social justice implications, recommendations and future research will be discussed.
